1) What are the dates for Oweek?
Oweek will be held from 31st July to 7th August. For the weekend in between, Saturday, 2nd August, will be a half day while Sunday, 3rd August will be an off day. We will break camp in the evening on 7th of August.
Additionally, there will be academic talks held by the school administration on 29th and 30th July.

2) What is the difference between Arts Camp and Oweek?
The basic difference between Arts Camp and Oweek is that Arts Camp is a 5-day 4-night stay-in camp while Oweek is a 7-day camp which does not require you to stay over in school. We do have a few night activities in our programmes but you get to go home after we break camp each day.
Oweek is also more academically orientated as we have arranged for talks for modules, bidding time and experiences in different majors to be shared by the seniors.
Otherwise, Arts Camp and Oweek are both about making friends and having the most fun while doing so!

3) What are the programmes for Oweek? What are we going to do during Orientation?
We will only be unveiling the programmes for Oweek day by day. This is to keep the camp more exciting as you will be surprised each day with the different programmes. We make it a point to make each day a unique experience for you guys. Do look forward!
As a precautionary measure, we will also be briefing the camp at the end of the day what to take note of and what to bring for the following day.
However, if you need to make special arrangements based on the programmes for whatever reasons, please feel free to approach our friendly PR team with your queries.:)

4) Is Oweek compulsory?
No, Oweek is not a compulsory event. However, we highly recommend incoming freshies to join us as you will learn a lot of valuable stuff about life in FASS from the seniors and also make some of the best friends of your life! You are only a freshie once, so take this chance to sign up for our camp for The Experience of your lifetime.
5) Is Oweek a stay-over camp? Can I stay over for Oweek?
No, Oweek is NOT a stay-over camp. Based on experience though, some OGs/House do choose to stay over should programmes end slightly later on some days.
However, it should be stated that staying over in school is strictly based on your personal choice. The Ocomm is not responsible for any loss of personal belongings or safety of campers should they choose to stay-over in school. Additionally, no accommodation is provided for the camp, so you will have to find your own spot in school to sleep for the night.

6) What do I do if Arts Oweek clashes with my Hall Orientation?
As Hall Orientation occurs in the week starting 25th July, we offer freshies/councilors interested in joining Oweek these alternatives:
a) Hall Camps will generally clash only with the first 2 days of Oweek (i.e., 31st July and 1st August). You can join Oweek once your hall camp ends. However, you are requested to register and make payment with us as per normal procedure.
b) You can also shuttle between the two camps as per your liking, meaning you go for hall camp for certain programmes and come for Oweek for certain programmes. This will only be the case for the first two days of Oweek. Similarly, you will also be requested to register and make payment first.

7) Oweek clashes with the bidding rounds, I don’t want to miss them. What should I do?
The Organizing Committee has already taken this into consideration in the planning of Oweek. We have already allocated sufficient time for freshies/councilors to do their bidding before going for programmes.
Additionally, freshies will enjoy the special privilege of having seniors around to guide you through the process and give you advice on how to bid and what modules to choose. This beats any dummy’s guide!

8) If I belong to another faculty/two faculties, can I go for Arts Oweek?
If you are from another faculty, we will put you on the waiting list and inform you if there are extra spaces for the camp. We seek your understanding that we give priority to students from FASS.
If you are a double degree student with FASS and another faculty, you are more than welcomed to join us. Feel free to register for the camp.

9) How do I register for Oweek?
Unfortunately, registration is closed as we have received an overwhelming response from councilors and freshies alike.
10) When is my spot in Oweek confirmed?
For Incoming Freshmen,
Your spot in Oweek is confirmed as long as you have received an Official Receipt from us!:)
For Councilors,
You will be required to hand in registration forms and make payment during Pre-Camp or at Raffles City Starbucks. You can get your friends to do so in your place if you are occupied otherwise. Once you have made payment, your spot in Oweek will be confirmed. If you are unable to make payment either way, your slot will be taken away and given to another on the waiting list.

11) Can I be grouped in the same OG as my friends?
As much as we would like to accede to all your requests, we are unable to do so for this one. We will take note of these requests and try as far as possible to meet them. However, we seek your understanding should it be not possible to do so due to administration issues. Do not worry too much about this because after all, joining camps is about making new friends anyway!
12) Most of the people in the OG already know each other from Arts Camp, I am worried that I will feel weird in the OG. How now brown cow?
We believe that our councilors are friendly people who are more than willing to make friends with the fresh freshies! Over the years, we have seen people bonding perfectly fine with their OG mates during Oweek. We think it will not be an issue as long as you come with a willingness to make friends and an open heart!;)
13) Can you accept just one more freshie for Oweek?
We have already maxed out the largest possible camp size for OWeek! We have limited resources to work with so there is a limit to how many people we can accept. Please do understand!
